For all it knows it ended up running into stop an go traffic. What is the trigger going to be to call the police, opening the door?, how would you set up a system like that without it being triggered by every dockworker that forgets to shut it off?
Even then, what do you think the police response time to an alarm going of on a semi would be, how would the transit company relay the signal to the police quickly?
If you got a 6 man crew, 3 vans, a driver and loader each, cut through the lock, open the doors and could steal a good amount of stuff in just a few minutes.>>17878583
Stores have security cameras on the outside, inside, metal gates across the doors. The floor space is much more open and products more spaced out, takes longer to grab the goods and run out, and the police know exactly where the store is when the alarm trips.
With semi trailers, you can just cut the lock and you are in, all the merchandise is in a compact space on pallets. You can just pull a van next to it and pull as many boxes as you can, throw them in the back and get out quick. Also would be an increased police response time since they are mobile and can be at any location.
