And? Redbull isn't making its own engines and Honda will be out by the end of the year. Horner's rants about today's engines have just as much value as Steiner's. They don't have money invested in designing engines, they just buy from a supplier, it could be I4, V6 or fucking Wankels for all they care.

some of my words because, as I said, I'm not arguing about how the V6 came to be and I'm well aware of the time and tech advantage the Mercs had, my point is that the big boy engines are not coming back and the reason for that is most certainly not all in the hands of Mercedes, but in the fact that the auto industry as a whole doesn't care about big engines anymore and quite literally more than half of the grid today is represented by car manufacturers which are in the business of selling cars and have all the interest in the world in following the most lucrative trend today.
