semi truck driver here. red semi is an asshat. he should have slowed down to at least allow more room for the white one, but he just wanted to keep his same pace since he's just lazy and wants to veg out while driving. if from red truck's view it looked like the white truck's merging lane was too short for him to get up to speed, he should have just slammed his brakes and kept going straight. I'd rather plow into someone else's trailer than sandwich some smaller car to my side. at the very least, legally, I could blame the conditions and the other semi-truck driver's inept failure to considering his merging speed. I'd much rather do that then potentially kill some innocent person next to me.
Realistically, yeah the cam-car shouldn't be in the left lane there, but you honestly can't expect the driver to think this would happen, but at the same time, the red truck either has his mirrors angled like ass, or he just didn't bother to look to see if a car was there. >>25955910 this also isn't the best example. conditions in the OP post aren't like this. yeah it is scary when all of a sudden a gray car pops out of nowhere during these rainy conditions but you change your driving style and awareness to
accommodate in cases when that weather happens.
your average stupid car driver is just as dumb as your average truck driver. its best for everyone who isn't a retard to just tell retards to be aware of situations like this and give more room.
on a final note, I'd also like to blame the infrastructure design here, shit is straight out of the 50s. I feel like bad and outdated infrastructure is a bigger leader to FATAL crashes than any sort of distraction with the level of safety cars have nowadays. it just manifests bad situations to form
