it was a "motel" somewhere in the countryside in central vietnam, near a small village. 2-3 hours away from a city or normal roads.
we (group of 12 europeans) stayed there because friend married his gf there, who was from said village. no other options to stay.
the owner of the "motel" literally dragged two women out of one room because otherwise there would not have been enough space for our group. didn't understand what those 2 women said but I guess they were cursing him
the "motel" was from the looks probably a former jail or reeducation camp during the vietnam war. it was only possible to lock the doors with padlocks, all "rooms" where side by side in a inner courtyard which was circled by big walls. the doors to the rooms were out of literally rotten wood, there was enough space to stick a hand under the door, some doors had so many holes that you could see inside the "rooms"
the furniture inside was a joke. the matresses were, I am not exaggerating, hard as a rock. I even slept on the concrete floor (because we did onyl have a bed for 2 people and where 3 in our room, didn't make a difference anyways because of the matresses)
light would work like 50% of the day. water was only cold. worst thing was that one of the walls facing the fucking jungle had partially fallen apart, so there were tons of insects, geckos and whatnot in our room. we found the largest spider I have ever seen in my life in the closet. I used one bottle of my poisionous anti insect-spray to make a barrier around my sleeping space on the floor (luckily I had a small sleeping bag with me)
inside the yard there were some dogs who fought the stray dogs from outside who wanted to come inside the "hotel". during the day they were chill but as soon as it was dark and you went outside, they were growling agressively
best thing about the experience was that the family of my friend who was getting married was filthy rich, they were totally shocked about this "hotel" butno other option
