It was shit.
You can eat cheap in Caracas, but only at 5 star restaurants - everything else is shitty to match the price, in many places there’s no running water even. You stand out too much you might get kidnapped (happened to an employee of mine) for a ransom. The local buses literally spike their wheels Mad Max style to ram potential hijackers off the road. Not worth doing business there anymore (all the local hires steal, and the government can’t be trusted to pay anymore).
If you go, then go with locals you personally know and check out the nature in the countryside and coast only - the farther away from the people, the better, because the land itself is the only redeeming aspect of the country.
Venezuela’s greatest problem is Venezuelans. No offense to the hardworking tios out there because I’ve met my share, but on average it’s a shithole and the gypsy attitude of the majority is to blame.
