The biggest problem was how they lit the poor guy. The movie's so dark half the time they literally had to have him in a constant sweat just to have some light bounce off his skin. The DP focused on lighting for the lighter skintones and half the time my guy looked like a pair of floating eyeballs

I agree. They always showed old acquaintances, but never how it got there.
Turns out that Wick is so competent and full of respect that he automatically makes friends.
He's the usual shonen protagonist.
