Is it possible to work in IT or CS without a degree and just teach myself the skills/get certifications? Do employers care about education or is it just up to your people skills to land a job?
I'm currently finishing my first year of college studying music and I'm thinking of dropping out because I'd rather just get straight into working full time instead of going through 3+ more years of a useless degree, even though I love music and it's what I'm best at. The workload is surprisingly a lot and the thought of going through this shit for 3 more years makes me wanna die. I also don't want to go into debt.
Is dropping out reasonable in my case, or would you stick it out just to have a bachelor's at all?
