Agree. "Maturity," to the extent that such a nebulous concept can be defined, come from two things - life experiences (which don't occur on a fixed timeline) and intelligence.
An intelligent 16 year old will have more "maturity" than an adult of average intelligence.
An 18 with lots of life experiences might have commensurate "maturity" with a 27 year old of the same intelligence that was a late bloomer.
The idea that the brain just gradually matures over time, independent of external circumstances or intelligence, is simply a stupid cultural more. >>27442489
What do you think is so markedly different between a 25 and 19 year olds mindset?
I'm 27 and my girlfriend is 18. We're happy together. She gets me and I get her. We support each other and have the same values and goals. The idea that I just "couldn't get a woman my own age" is bullshit. It's much harder to be attractive to a young girl who has all the options in the world than a girl in her late twenties whose options are dwindling. I have never had any shortage of options when it comes to "women my own age." My girlfriend is also not getting taken advantage of. She has a supportive, emotionally intelligent and successful partner who has his own place and has the money to spoil her. She will never have to deal with fuckboys, dating apps, or the indignity of fucking in a tiny college dorm. She's living the dream.
