>>25613406no previous owner did a 5spd swap with 4.11 fd, i had it refreshed (new synchros/bearings) and did a rs 5th + stock 4.4 fd so now it literally has honda b16/type r gearing in a 3200lb/420whp awd car...i regret the rs 5th im spinning 3800rpms @ 70mph
it had a buschur 3586r kit w/log manifold + a bunch of ricer bullshit like 2 turbo timers, greddy ebcs, meth injection kit, viper alarm, aftermarket HIDs on top of factory hids, sound system, etc all from 2007-2009 that i ripped out and patched the harness for
the 6 speed is kinda shit man ben @ gears and gasoline ripped one up despite having TRE do literally everything to keep it alive...hell even the 5spds have service intervals of 30k miles (after which they show wear on the input shaft bearings) and are only rated for 380 ft-lbs according to mitsu (jon @ tre will literally sperg out if you tell him you're going past 600whp on one and tell you to buy a gtr/turbo ls which he's not wrong considering it's kept him in business)
>>25613411if you work for a airline: no you'll be slave labor unless you become a union mechanic
if you work for a public state agency like me: literal dream job, i get 4-7 weeks of time off a year (3 weeks vacation 1 week pto up to 4 weeks of OT banked as pto) + pension + $20-30 copays for medical/dental/vision. my pay scale is $23/hr starting, $38/hr after 8-9 years, but that's also in a very high COL area
for me its entirely facilities maintenance you'd unironically be overqualified most of my coworkers are ex-tradies who left the private sector for stability (concreters/pavers, roofers/framers, carpenters, painters, etc)
you are overqualified and should consider a consulting role
