Car on the right is 6015 lbs or 2730kg. The new electric Hummer is 9063 lbs or 4110kg. How long until these new big EVs pose a major safety hazard on the road. I can't imagine getting rear-ended or t boned by a 9000lbs truck in something like a Geo metro or old civic and walking away unharmed.

I’m impressed how you came to the conclusion a lift kit and nearly stock size tires added 400Lbs - assuming of course that truck has the diesel inline 6 which is 300lbs more than the average V8 most come with.

I remember when Electric RC planes became semi mainstream.
Every once in a while, someone would fuck up the tuning of their throttle switch and send their EV plane into the runway fence.
It happens so fast it's hard to react since the power to weight is crazy on electric RC shit.

The 11500 LB ft number is missleading cause all trucks have torque multiplication through gear reduction. My old stock suburban theoretically has more than that amount of torque if I put it in 4 Lo. And diesel truggs can put down 20,000 Lb ft to the road. The E-Hummer has 800Hp, but it weighs 9000 pounds. And you have to put it in performance mode to get all of that power, and the batteries have to be charged and in the proper tempature range.granted it will pull pretty hard even in suboptimal conditions, but its over hyped. As far as the weight goes, you have retards towing shit or renting U-hauls, sometimes both at the same time. And not all semi truck drivers are good at it either. Many truck drivers cant even handle a golf cart properly.

The difference is instant availability. The 9000lb Hummer e-trugg can do 0-60 in 3 seconds because there's no trannies or transfer cases in the way and it doesn't have to rev to 4k rpm to hit peak torque. Push pedal, put down power, doesn't get much simpler than that, like a nog in redeye chally wally but more powerful.

Why drive a small truck when a large truck gets the same mileage? Plus contrary to what most people here think people with trucks usually do have a decent sized trailer or boat to tow.

As a contractor vans just make way more sense than trucks unless you need to tow heavier equipment.

I don't want to climb a bilt in set of stairs to load a bag of cement into the truck bed ,and I don't want to have to crawl around in the bed to get a toolbox in and out of my truck, I'm 6'2" I should just be able to reach over the side to grab my shit.

Also, I just prefer the handling of small vehicles more.

im not the grey tacoma guy, but i do have a small tacoma with a 6 foot bed. its nice but it only has about 1000lbs of payload which is really limiting. i really cant add any accessories at all, and any accessories have to be removable to save weight (like a tonneau cover or bed mat)

Absolutely false, not only are they better for Contracting but the CPM of operation is cheaper too.
Not to say that Trucks don't have their point but it is hauling or carry loads in the bed, not for tools and repair work.
Their is a reason why you see big companies operating vans for tool and service and trucks for everything else

Nah. Vans are much harder to service and repair. They also cost more up front than a truck in a lot of cases. You also have to factor in the cost of a tow and the downtime when you get the RWD van stuck in the winter. There are much more trucks than vans as service vehicles here, especially in new construction.
