The new Z is genuinely a decent car and an upgrade over the 370z in a fair number of ways.
Except the price is just too ridiculous to justify buying it.
Realistic MSRP is 45-50K for a base model, but dealers want 60K+ because of scarcity vs demand. That's double what a base model 370z is, and for what? 65 more horsepower (which is from turbos, meaning it's not the same as if it were 400 horsepower N/A), a more modern interior, and a refreshed exterior. You don't even get an LSD in the base model.
If it were 35-38k for the base model then forget it, it's a great deal. But 50-60K is too much.>>25806823
There is some truth to this gloomy outlook but in reality only people that refuse to buy used and refuse to mod cars actually get that down in the dumps over the state of the auto industry. Put some money into a $20K used 370z and it'll run laps around the new Z in every metric. I'm not even talking turbo kits, you can get a 370z to 450-460 BHP with full bolt ons + ported manifolds + exhaust cams and if you can do the installs and tuning yourself it'll only cost you 5-6 grand.
