I think the value of all art is in its beauty, and beauty must therefore be art's main focus. Now there are certainly beautiful modern buildings, but it is the spirit in which most modern things are designed (profit driven, easy to construct, minimalist, empty, cold, passionless, lifeless, meaningless) that causes people to dislike it. That's why I said Picasso's art is shit, he chose to depict the ugliest most deformed and degenerate states of human consciousness possible, for some odd reason. This art brings us down, it does not uplift us nor speak to our higher selves or call forth our soul to love life and the world.
