>>516386267The chan and imageboard concepts are inherently compromised and severely flawed. I suspect 4chan was created as a parallel "hivemind" model to DARPA Lifelog (which became facebook). They were always intended to work together and to allow them to correlate and cross reference what groups say amidst each other and with anonymity.
On the chan conce4pt itself, many of us were basically tricked as children and teenagers. Strip away all the personal bullshit and you have something very simple. A platform where people are pseudo-anon to each other, but not the site's staff and anyone they give access to an interface to monitor such things. To an admin on the site, via your global poster ID which is tied to your IP, all of your posts across all threads on all boards would appear as one single thread. You could have people, or bots, monitoring things at this level and jumping in anywhere they want to nudge or apply stimulus, then monitor to see if there's a change in behavior down the line. Repeat as necessary. This is the fundamentals of cybernetics, modeling a system of feedback and control. Furthermore you could train an AI on individual posters and how they act with anonymity, you could gauge degree of influence and engagement by watching how many replies they get and how often their images are reposted, and so on. Botswarms could follow people around and either damp or amplify them.
All from a level of knowledge that is obscured from all other posters. Again, we are "anon" to each other, but not the site's staff. They can see it all, all of your posts across all boards, and who everyone is across threads. And all the while, we cannot. How is that anything other than a creepy and totally shit design? Lot of trust required.
