This lends itself to a strong centralized media, that manufactures their beliefs and viewpoints for them. This is basically where the NPC meme comes from: read carbon-copy viewpoints from sites like Vox, Slate, The Atlantic/The New Yorker, Huffington Post, the NYT, and the Washington Post (and in your country, sites like The Guardian). These sources are "safe" to share amongst themselves without fear of reprecussions. Same thing with entertainment: they all laugh at and share the same jokes from the same comedians, because they can do so with the security of knowing that even if this comedian makes the odd off-kilter remark, it won't reflect negatively on them.
Contrast this with a place like /pol/. Most of you faggots are utterly retarded, and have absolutely nothing of value to say, but you can still say what you honestly, truly believe, and you won't have your life, social, personal, or professional, dragged through the mud over it. This means that we can create better memes, because we can share what we believe to be the truth, in its simplest, most basic forms. Leftists have surrendered that ability, something that I pity them for more than they'll ever know.
