Revelation frames the previous prophesies through the lense of Jesus so you can decode it all. John is in spirit, when he has this vision, not flesh.
The 4 horse are actually spirits of God. You can compare this to Daniel where an angel tells him plainly this is so.
The "churches" (or assemblies) beliefs produce an angel in heaven. Which is represented by the lampstand and stars. In our language this means thoughts on earth become forms in heaven.
The beast has always been here. It is satan itself giving power to the kingdoms. Represented by daniel as separate beasts. He describes the creatures, and the angel explains the nations. They are as follows, linked to nebuachnezzar's idol of the kingdoms:
Gold - Babylon
Silver - Medo Persia
Bronze - Greece
Iron - Seleucid empire with the arrogant one being Antiochus
These were the ones confirmed by the angel. The only kingdom left is the mix of Iron and Clay, which is Roman Palestine and the southern kingdom of Judah which do not mix.
The rock that destroyed this idol was the testimony that Jesus is the Christ and is the son of God. The rock is not literal. The destruction of the kingdom is in spirit of the believer in Christ.
The second beast arrived shortly after Christ to trick people (believers) into worshiping the beat (the kingdoms of earth) and the one with the head which was fatally wounded but revived. (babylon). This second beast is the earthly church which focuses on thankful for materials and babylonian paganism.
the trickiest part is buying and selling with the mark of the beast. That is in spirit as well. Jesus commands churches to buy gold to be rich, buy salve so they can see, buy clothes so they won't be naked. This church was not literally broke, naked and blind. They were so in spirit. The buying was a spiritual command. When you take the mark of the beast, you are forced to buy and sell false hope from. Believers are not of this world, they are already on mount Zion. Again in spirit.
