Let me give you a rock solid garuantee, if and its a big IF, generations going foward continue to see an overall trend of decline in incomes in real terms then any first world nation is pushing itself to the brink of a revolution or going back to being a "based" state.
Theres simply no way america or britain or anyone else can keep its population placated for that long with dead money.
If we arent the economies making the progress in terms of technology, etc. then they are looking down that gun barrel and probably quicker than anyone previously imagined.
And i dont think anything would make the situation better for them, even if there were fewer people, It wouldnt matter, it would infact make it easier for a revolution to occur. Because the system needs the backing of a majority core (or permission to carry on ruling) in order to survive.
If theres fewer people around that makes them all the more vulnerable.
