It's incredibly hard to overstate how incredibly stupid the average Brazilian is.
The average Brazilian IQ is 83 (https://www.worlddata.info/iq-by-country.php
). Considering that ~78% of people fall within one standard deviation either side of the mean it's fairly safe to assume that any Brazilian you're talking to has roughly the same cognitive faculties as Koko the gorilla (who scored between 70 and 90 on various IQ scales).
Accordingly, functional literacy rates in Brazil are shockingly low - according to statistics only 9% Brazilians are considered to be fubctionally literate (INAF, 2005).
Given the above information regarding functional literacy, Dr Richard Feynman's critique of the Brazilian education system as being based on rote memorization as opposed to actual understanding (https://www.ime.usp.br/~abe/lista/msg05947.html
) begins to make a lot more sense. This rote memorization of "facts" without question explains the prevalence of evangelical Christianity, African "religions", miracle cures, "quantum coaches", NLP courses, and other general quackery.
TL;DR - Brazil is a failed country full of brown skinned homunculi in baggy rags who erroneously believe themselves to be white, scampering about like a cross between planet of the apes and an experiment in giving the patients the keys to the asylum.
