>>367711588I was on a phone call yesterday - I work at a really politically correct lefty company. Anyway I'm telling my immediate boss (who is a Korean woman, but she's quite capable and a decent person to work with) that one of our clients is going out of office for a few months and will be replaced by "Arshdeep" but I don't know who he is. Then there's silence for a moment and she says well but do you know the name of the person taking over?
I'm like...I just said, his name is "Arshdeep" let me look up his lastname. She sort of chortles on the phone and says "oh I thought you were making an off-color remark or slang phrase, I didn't realize that's his name." By the way, if I'd have said that to anyone else I'd expect to get fucking fired, but I was glad she said it because the very instant I saw this guy's name I was thinking how unfortunate that in English his first name sounds like ass-deep and conjures up images of someone getting buttfucked.
So I laughed and said "hey just don't let any of the Indian people around here hear you saying that" and she was like "well it's just...you know exactly what that sounds like!"
