Friendly reminder that the Russians went in with 200,000 troops compared to Ukraine's total potential for 600,000 defenders. That's only about 1/5 of Russia's total active military personnel.

That's a 1:3 disadvantage in numbers while attacking... and they're still winning. Typical conventional doctrine calls for a 3:1 ADVANTAGE in numbers when doing a ground invasion. Russia made masterful use of Art of War style feints, probing attacks, cauldron maneuvers, and targeted destruction of critical logistics infrastructure to basically render the Ukrainian military combat ineffective within a month. The best part is that they accomplished that without going the lazy American route of bombing everything including civilian population centers into dust before the mop up action took place in the guise of the actual "invasion".

For comparison, the American invasion of Iraq in March 2003 took about a month to conquer a dilapidated previously crushed Iraqi military that was bombed into submission ahead of the actual ground invasion, which in reality was just a mop up action. The "Shock and Awe" campaign saw the extensive use of air and missile strikes to soften up the military assets and cities long before the soldiers entered the battlefield. By comparison, no American has ever had to fight the same kind of war that Russia is fighting against Ukraine right now, because by the time they get to the fight, all they're going up against are fucking farmers with AK's while the Russians are fighting an actual military that has been trained and equipped by America and it's allies.

Some people may not realize this, but despite the few setbacks they've had, Russia is pulling off one of the greatest tactically and technically impressive military ground victories since WWII. Don't believe the media hype.

This doesn't even get into the fact that Russia has China, India, and most of the Middle East on it's side by now. If it comes down to WWIII, Russia IS going to win. Period.
