Which really doesn't address the issue expressed in those posts - that an image board is a kinda shit place to have a serious, persistent study or discussion of any given topic, and is an inherently flawed medium through which to do so. There are more suitable formats in which this can be achieved.
It also does nothing to oppose the notion that there are 'too many'. Just as /tg/ is likely to complain about the number of 40k threads at a time, or the franchise spilling out into different and unrelated topics of discussion. so to should it be expected that quest threads would receive much the same treatment.
If they are truly 'metadiscussions' of the genre, then most outsiders would feel the need to ask what topics, after such length and variety of the discussion, have been left untouched, and how much of this has been redundant retreading of old ground?
Perhaps they're more enriching than yet another trap joke - but the trap joke isn't meant to stick around, hence why it hasn't been made in a more permanent format. The same can not be said for quests.
