There's no hidden message about race in this one. The bears aren't the ones fading from history, they're the ones thriving after the works of man have been destroyed. Also them being white probably wasn't even in the prompt, that artist just likes painting white fur (shows up a lot in her personal work.)
I mean I agree with any criticisms of WotC on the subject but I'm just saying that using this card as an example is schizo shit.

Well, i guess it is cheaper than buying every single card in china man. But if you are not completely new to the game china man would be the best option money wise. (BTW imagine this being a entry point product...)

You're misreading the packaging, it doesn't come with two collector boosters. Commander decks come with a 2-card collector booster sampler which is basically just a random foil rare and a random non-foil rare from the set's collector boosters pool. The 10 tokens is a given for commander decks too, so it's the same amount of cards as the $40 precons before it. The only reason why the Commander Masters precons are getting a price increase is because two of them are paypig tribes (Eldrazi and Slivers) that need to come with expensive reprints in order to be viable decks out of the box.

This is the company that put our an Izzet Phoenix Pioneer deck with two single copies of its namesake cards instead of a full playset.
There will probably be only three reprints worth a damn and a bunch of bullshit, like those Changeling creatures.

Wizards tend to put the good/valuable cards in the products that cost the most, I'll bet that these decks will have great cards in them since they somehow justify that "when the deck costs twice as much as a normal precon it is okay"

tl;dr is, according to their data (which we can't have access to, lmao) delver needed to take a hit in both win rate and popularity, so they banned EI because they were abusing it as a card selecton/card advantage spell, in modern, their data doesn't show any need to address murktide, which is the most popular deck abusing EI, therefore EI wasn't banned

When they say "Modern is in a good place" they are obviously saying that "Modern Horizons Costructed is in a good place" and they are correct, all the Modern Horizons cards are seeing a healthy amount of play in Modern Horizons Constructed.

Time spiral block was a parallel universes and time travel set. It had the modern border (8th forward) but some cards with the set had different borders to match their gimmick.

Time spiral - Timeshifted cards : was a separated slot in boosters (and some would appear in theme decks) that were reprints of older cards in the older border but with the timeshifted expansion symbol.
Planar Chaos - Color shifted cards : Cards within the main set that were basically reprints of older cards but in another color and name (same effect, type, "mana cost"(just with other colored mana symbols))
Future Sight - Future shifted cards : Cards with a "new" border (Future border)(one interesting thing is the symbol on top left - there were one for each card type). The ultimate gimmick here was that wotc said that those cards would eventually be reprinted in new sets. (from what i remember it was originally standard set reprints, but now they just reprint them into supplemental sets)

My Pauper group started by allowing people to use proxies. After about 6-8 weeks people got bored with top meta decks, found their favourite archetypes and started to buy into those decks with no proxies. It really helps when your favourite format requires you to drop $50 on a deck at worst - most people seem to be fine with this when it comes to their beloved petdecks.

No draft is never a good way to get into MtG unless you want to spend a shitton of money on cards that won't even buy you a competitive deck.

No it's not. I bought my Pioneer precon for $40 and played it with next to no upgrades every single week for like three months for free before buying any +$1 cards. My Pauper deck costs $25 and got no +$1 upgrades for over 2 years now except for new fancy basic lands.
On the other hand you can spend $45 on three drafts and end up with a pile of useless cards once WotC releases a new set so you will have to spend $15 multiple times again.

Because old mtg got the mix of tech and fantasy just right. The newer sets, even when set in Dominaria, don't seem to be able to depict it in the same way. I can't put my finger in it, but they either look too futuristic or too much like magical wooden toys. Someone who knows more about fantasy art might be able to explain better.

It's because in old MTG. magic was a glue. Things were designed with the idea that magic could overcome limitations in engineering. Things weren't futuristic even though people had access to magic, it's like "what if things were designed around a different power source, a different philosophy?" So rather than our real planes that generate lift through the force of massive turbines that spin with gas, what if you had a ship that sailed on magic winds? This was even reflected in the lore, with all this shit starting because the Thran were fucking with an energy source their whole society revolved around but they didn't understand.
Nu-Magic (and western fantasy in general0 doesn't care about thinking, questions, ramifications, or complexity. They just think "AW YEAH WITH MAGIC U CAN DO ANYTHING" and just make robots with iPod aesthetics.

Every time I see some "new brew" "rogue deck" "anti-meta" etc. shit and it's got Saga, Ragavan, elementals, Omnig, whatever, I yawn. This format is fucking done. It's actually worse than Legacy because not all decks need FoW to be competitive but in Modern you NEED MH staples or you have already lost.
