You're making my point for me. When prostitution is illegal, the organized crime component tends to be higher.

Granted organized crime will be involved even if it's legal (depending on the setup, of course- brothels are probably more likely to be mobbed up than freelancers).

Legit business people will be hesitant to publicly link themselves to brothels or strip clubs even if it's legal cause it'll hurt their brand. I doubt McDonald's or Disney wants to start a strip club franchise. Mobsters don't have to give a shit about harming their reputation by running a sex related business.

But you know what other entities are connected to organized crime? Police and politicians. When are we going to outlaw police and politicians. At least you can stay away from brothels, strip clubs and hookers if you want. It's pretty easy to do. It's a lot harder to avoid corrupt government officials being involved in your life.
