Italy, Greece, Turkey, Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam tend to be the least controversial destinations. They're all ancient countries with vibrant city lives, and a reasonable cost of living.

I have a hunch that Australia would be popular as well, if it weren't for all the self-hating Aussies on the board. I've never met a nation more fond of whinging in my entire life. You'd think it was a complete shithole when it's a safe, clean white country with decent economic opportunity, even if it is rather boring and expensive.

Unlike the other anon, I don't actively blame /pol/ and coomers. I just think that standards on the internet have gotten quite shit since covid. Youtube, 4chan, or anything else, really.
People get their travel ideas from social media, youtubers (very very bad models for most of them), which are bad sources of inspiration/information to begin with. And a lot of people are generally bitter so they like to shit upon anything that can be quite surprisingly nice because it doesn't join their doomsday vision of the world.

Before 2015, we had anons who were actually going out and doing really impressive things: there was the French guy motorcycling across Congo, the European vantage traversing Central Asia, and the anon who freighthopped the coal train in Sudan.

Nowadays, you can’t talk about any countries that aren’t one of the following:

>all-White place in Europe with no Muslim immigrants and/or refugees (so no Berlin, London, parish etc)

This. The people complaining about coomers are more annoying than the coomer themselves. Obviously, some destinations are more popular than others, and there will always be talk of sex tourism on an anonymous travel board. Then again, many of the posters calling for that are actually women, who never bought into the things that make 4chan unique in the first place. /trv/ is secretly one of the most gender-balanced boards. The women have been around long enough not to call attention to their gender (most of the time). But it's like girls can't enter any space frequented by nerds without trying to ruin it. And now we've come full circle back to Gamergate.

pre-2016 it was a slow board. threads would stay up for ~2 years at a time and even the busiest generals only got 1 or 2 new posts a week.

Back in the /b/ with all the gore and edgy stuff , sure you would spot negative crap occasionally but in general the 4chan audience were more humane , there was actually genuine interactions, till the internet become social media madness and a pit of vulgarity .
People would sent bitcoin , pizzas and food to each others, when some anon opened thread venting he's misfortunes , people would actually all share empathy and help him .
I remember that , i recall 1 thread about some anon living in bad situation no food barely had money for food, and it was impressive the spirit of anons that flooded the thread to help him, sending him , paypal donations , words of comfort.

Things changed , that's about it, the world feels more cold outside and it reflects in here since internet become mainstream corporate internet and not the cozy nerd innocent virtual oasis anymore

I think there is a lot of truth here. I think /pol/fags are mostly teenagers going through their roughest years and trying to make sense of the big gay world that is fucking with them. I agree, India threads on /trv/ always attract the lowest effort posts. At least the Canada poojeet pastas have some effort put into them, and they're actually funny. All the India threads are is "hurr gonna creampie brown woman muh dik."

I'm not one of those people who complains about sex tourism talk, but come on now. At least if there were actually useful advice like the Philippines thread, but no, you can tell it's teenage poltards who have never, and likely will never set foot in the country. The only redeeming feature of those threads is that one guy who's spent his entire adult life in the country, and his effortposts.

It's a recent development caused by bad moderation deleting any hints of Indian women having sex with anybody but their arranged groom.
If the mods would allow some discussion analog to other generals the low-effort coomposting would be mostly gone, replaced by some more or less informative posts on the topic, see any East Asia or SEA thread for examples.

He lived there for years and only bagged two women, both being dancers or something like that which is looked down upon as a promiscuous profession in India.
