When I was a kid, there was this creepy show on tv called fluffy fluffy cotton puffy.

It was about an anthropomorphic cotton ball that would come to life when kids would rub on him/her
nobody I have ever met remembers the show and I know I can't be the only one
The creepiest thing about the show was everybody acted so janky and unnatural, like the cameraman was holding a gun to them or something.

So...

And by the way, I cant remember what channel it was on but i would have to assume it was a local broadcast station, As a kid I lived in Irishtown New Brunswick Canada if that helps

Would you say it was low-budget, OP? There might not be anything on it because it wasn't that popular or it was just a local thing.
What were the episodes like? Do you remember the names of any of the kids on the show? How the theme song went?
Any catch phrases? Side characters? Any specific segments on the show, like "Story Time"? What did the show teach, if anything? Was it anything like Barney The Dinosaur?
Give me everything you've got and I promise I'll try to find it.

It was very low budget. It would just come on interrupting whatever regular kids show was on and every episode was pretty much the same, A kid would run onto the same circle shaped set that looked like something out of a crappy sitcom, the type of thing that is very obviously not a full room. The kid would wish awkwardly for something and then rub the cottonball and say "fluffy fluffy cotton puffy, i wish i may I wish i might" or something to that effect, although I remember the fluffy fluffy cotton puffy phrase to be a direct quote. After that a person in a giant cottonball would run in from the other side of the set and creepily hug the kid... the kids always looked reluctant to hug it. it would grant the wish which would usually be something medial like wanting a popsicle or something and then the kid would say some other rhyme that I cant remember for the life of me and the ball would fade out of the screen like it was superimposed in... probably some jump cut editing my 7 year old mind couldn't comprehend at the time. No other characters. No intro or outro, no scheduled timeslot it would come on and it would only last like 3-4 minutes.

Upon further inspection, I was wrong, I thought you were talking about the 2006 BBC show by the same name, since canada is a constitutional monarchy (our monarch being the queen) we get tons or british programming but i dont thing the show you are talking about is it either.

I read up on that and im pretty sure that isnt it. That article claims that it is a "cotton ball like creature" that only says "me too" and i remember Cotton Puffy being very clearly stated to be a cotton ball and saying more than that. Im going to dig in the CBC archives to confirm this though

Also if you guys want other creepy kids shows I was terrified by this Native show called tipi tales, Its not hard to find and its spooky as fuck. it involves a bunch of eyeless puppets of native people chilling in a tipi

Yeah that description sounds a little familiar but this website you found that refers to it is like pretty gibberish as far as i can read. Im not sure why he would bring it up or why its relevant to anything else he mentions in his blog. Also the show was fully live action so im not entirely positive this is it although its definitely a good lead

But reading the script made me realize something. This was the show "Me too!" Well... sort of... What I watched as a kid for the most part was not like this... Every once and a while a normal episode like what is described here would come on tv. I feel like what I saw was something similar probably made by who made the legit show. Or maybe by some feeble editing Somebody would like edit in their own basement made verion of the show on my local access channel because i can guarentee you, although what I saw had the same general concept of whats in my link, it was not fully the same thing if that makes any sense

More update: So I talked to my mom about it who is basically the biggest fan of CBC in the world (canadian broadcasting company) She remembers both a legit show like we have been finding a small amount of evidence about called "me too!" and an ever more disturbing basement made knockoff like I talked about earlier... Like i said in my earlier posts before i realised they were 2 separate shows, the scary one was Janky and probably basement made and broadcasted. It was even less professional than the real show and it was much lower budget. my estimate for the budget is honestly like $2.50 an episode. They were also shorter and would just cut in in front of other shows and had no intro or outro

Ok so turns out the house I used to live in was demolished. but here is the address of the vacant lot if anybody wants to check it out... I lived in a duplex with a movie rental/gas station store and across the street is a long abandoned church with spoopy graveyard

I dunno, I assume the chapel. Mom says we ended up leaving the house because it was foreclosed and apparently demolition started the day we left...

So I know this thread is dead but this has been haunting my memory as my best friend and I are going through some nostalgia. I asked my mother if she remembers this show at all and it’s a very vague memory she has of it,

I remember liking this show too much as a kid and I asked my mum for a cotton ball and I did the rub and poem thing and was devastated that it didn’t come to life.
